BLACK IVORY
This Band has been around since November 1981.
In their formative years
Black Ivory's music was influenced by many
prominant Heavy Metal artists,
namely Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron
Maiden. Throughout their
career the band has expanded their musical
interests into virtually all genres
of music while continuing the creation of
powerful, melodic Heavy Metal. The
band currently resides in the Seattle area
and is made up of Ron (sloth)
Balmer, Cal (snake) Christensen, Bryant (sid)
Bickmore, Jack (soubbs) Daniel,
and Paul (spider) Clark.

"I think the time has come for anyone who
might have dismissed heavy metal
as a mere juvenile diversion on the rock &
roll highway to reconsider. I'm
convinced after all when Ogden, can churn
out a band with the intensity
displayed by BLACK IVORY. They have definetely
got something close to what
it takes....besides, they use real blood on
stage."
Review by Kevin Kirk (Owner of The Heavy Metal
Shop in Salt Lake City,Utah)

"If the world collapsed inward and all the
demons of Hell were spewed forth,
BLACK IVORY would hang a sign reading 'home
sweet home'. That's right,
they're a metal band and a tight one at that,
so check 'em out."
Review by The Rocket Magazine (Seattle, Washington)

"Black Ivory's music holds the belief that
violence may be dark, but it is a
reality people must confront in order to destroy,
and music may just be the
medium to get their message across"

"I really enjoyed BI's style of melodic, medieval
sounding metal, and their
power on stage was great. Even when their
singer accidently cracked open his
head and bled all over, they never lost a
beat!"
Letter from an anonymous fan appearing in
SLUG Magazine's letters-to-the-editor

"They were the winners of the 1990 Battle
of the Bands (chosen best of the 18
bands who entered the contest) primarily due
to their originality and
professionalism. One of the advantages to
this band is they spend more time
working on their music rather than quibbling
about a phony image. If you are a
fan of good metal check these boys out - you
won't be disappointed."

"They're music is, well, a little different
from the traditional radio fare. They
don't sing those silly, trite, love-laden
lullabies ... they sing about stuff like
death, destruction and pestilence, with maybe
a chronicle of an axe-murder
thrown in just to keep it interesting."
